It’s a National League East battle as the Washington Nationals go on the road looking to put a disappointing 2015 behind them as they open 2016 against the rebuilding Atlanta Braves Monday afternoon. Washington faded in the second half of the season last year, finishing 83-79, seven games behind the NL East champion Mets. Atlanta finished 67-95 for their fewest wins in a full season since the 1990 team was 65-97. The Nationals owned the season series last year, winning 14 of 19 games. The Braves held a 5-4 edge in games played at Turner Field.
